Present and Perspectives

1924 Establishment of a millstone dressing shop in Abensberg by Mister Michael Glatt. At various locations in Abensberg, the shop evolved into a mill building company with 15 members of staff.
1964 Erwin Glatt, the 28 year old son of the company founder, took over the management. Thereby, the company established a national and international reputation as a specialist manufacturer of silos and pressure vessels.
1971 Offices and the production hall I were built in Abensberg´s industrial site.
1976 Erection of production hall II.
1979 Change of the name to Michael Glatt Maschinenbau GmbH.
1985 The company expanded into plant building due to lime proportion installations and lime slakers.
1986 Expansion of the production hall II for extremely large products. Erection of an assembly tower for standing design.
1991 Investment of the Büechl Handels- und Beteiligungs-KG from Regensburg.
1993 A special hall II++ dedicated to corrosion protection was implemented for blasting and painting as well as pickling and passivating.
1994 The company becomes a 100 % subsidiary of the Büechl Handels- und Beteiligungs-KG, Regensburg for the first time.
1995 Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001
Plans about a CAD system with a DXF interface were winded up.
1996 Entry into the manufacturing of larger and heavier columns, tanks and apparatuses.
1997 Manufacturing of the first electro-polished vessels for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets.
1999 Investment into Tandem-TIG-Welding process for partial-mechanized, gap reduced welding of half pipes upon vessels.
2002 International certification according to ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1
Entry into the food industry and development of new markets due to exports.
2005 Manufacturing License of Special Equipment People’s Republic of China Pressure Vessels A2.
2006 Erection of the production hall III.
2007 Expansion of the production hall III and erection of an additional assembly tower.
2008 Sale of Michael Glatt Maschinenbau GmbH to centrotherm Photovoltaik Group, Blaubeuren.
Centrotherm SiTec GmbH became a 100 % shareholder.
2009 Development of a new business unit for the production of reactors and converters in order to manufacture silicon for the photovoltaic industry.
2010 Reconstruction of the corrosion protection hall IV as well as the verifying and packaging plant V.
2011 Investment into a CNC milling – and drilling center for internal and external mechanical processing.
Market activity as a service-provider for machine components with processing.
2012 Redemption of Michael Glatt Maschinenbau GmbH by Büechl Handels- und Beteiligungs-KG, Regensburg.
2014 Investment in high-performance water-jet cutting system with new Hall I +
2017 Change of Managing Director
2018 Renovation of the office
2019 Investment in plasma cutting machine
Future Company-owned training center
